Verrucae
Verrucae are a type of wart caused by a virus which tend to grow inward because we are standing on them.They are particularly prevalent amongst the young today, due to a marked increase in bare feet activities such as gymnastics, dance, and particularly swimming etc. The need for professional NHS chiropody treatment is not being met, and this has resulted in an explosion of pharmaceutical products coming onto the market. It is now the norm for this practice to have to deal with resistant planter wart infections that have been unsuccessfully treated with a whole plethora of quite expensive 'home treatments'. It is always best to seek a state registered chiropodist's advice with regard to this condition as repeated unskilled attempts at treatment does cause the verrucae to become rather more resisitant.
