Ingrown toe-nails

Ingrown Toenail is a most painful and debilitating condition which affects all age groups. Interestingly it is most common among adolescent males where it manifests itself in the most traumatic manner. Conservative treatment usually requires some minor routine chiropody, nail cutting advice, control of perspiration and relief from any pressure from footwear. More persistent ingrown nails may require surgical correction. Historically, this was regarded as an involved and often unpleasant treatment. I have specialised in nail surgery since 1983 and recurrent cases require partial removal of the nail with sterilization of that area of the root matrix to prevent re-growth. It is a walk-in walk-out operation all performed in a most civilised and comfortable manner under local anaesthetic. Patients are referred to me from distant parts by doctors and chiropodists alike due to the success of the procedure and the excellent cosmetic appearance. (See Nail Surgery)
